Tire rotation
Tire maintenance is important for the continued life and performance of your tires. One way you can get the best value out of your tire set is through regular tire rotation. Rotating tires is important, because no two tires experience the same amount of stress. Even your left front tire and right front tire won't wear at the exact same rate. To prevent uneven tire wear, a tire rotation service is recommended every 10,000 km to 12,000 km.
We provide tire rotations for customers in Toronto, ON and Rexdale, ON.
How are tires rotated?
There are several different methods for rotating tires depending on the type of vehicle you drive and the tires you are using:
Our technicians choose the appropriate rotation process for your vehicle and tires.

Winter tire tips
Winter weather is hard on your tires
When winter arrives, will you be ready? At the turn of fall into freezing temperatures and snowy road conditions, your tires will be working overtime. Make sure your car is ready for winter with these handy winter tire tips:
- Put tires on your vehicle designed for winter driving
- Inflate your tires 3–5 psi more than usual. Colder temps can interfere with your tire pressure. You can lose 1–2 PSI for every 12.2° C drop in temperature
- Check your tire pressure once a month
- Monitor your tread depth monthly
- Add studded tires if you drive on icy roads
- Get a wheel alignment to keep tires from wearing out
Summer tires aren't designed to withstand cold weather, and all-season tires don't beat tires made specifically for these types of conditions.
Did you know cold temperatures can make tires harden, reducing the amount of grip they have? Snow tires are built to withstand temperature drops better than standard tires. If you're looking for seasonal tires, we’ll help you find the right match for your ride. We even offer seasonal tire storage to make changing summer and winter tires easy.
We proudly serve Toronto, Etobicoke, Rexdale, and surrounding areas.
Winter driving can be stressful enough. Factory Tire & Rubber Inc. wants you to have a safe and enjoyable driving experience. Visit us today, or call 416-744-1414 for more information.
Winter tire downsizing
Tire downsizing is a common practice, especially for your winter tires. You’ve probably heard about it, but do you know what it means? If not, that’s okay. Factory Tire & Rubber Inc. is here to help.
We offer winter tire downsizing packages for drivers in Toronto, Etobicoke, and Rexdale, ON.
Tire downsizing—the basics
Tire downsizing is an important winter driving preparation. Large diameter snow tires larger are less effective on snow and ice compared to snow tires that are more narrow.
We will help ensure your tires and wheels are the proper diameter to keep your speedometer and traction control accurate. Your downsized tires will be the right size to ensure proper performance on snow and ice, and they'll be more economical.
We can also help you locate downsized wheels to add to your tires. We offer complete downsizing packages.
Stay safe this winter and save some money with winter tire downsizing. Call Factory Tire & Rubber Inc. now at 416-744-1414.
Tire care tips
At Factory Tire, we want our customers in Toronto, ON, Etobicoke, ON, Rexdale, ON, and surrounding areas to remain on top of tire performance and adhere to maintenance schedules outlined in their owner’s manual.
Your tires contribute to vehicle performance. Tire maintenance can protect your investment by extending the life of your tires. Checking tire pressure, rotating your tires, balancing your tires, and choosing the right set of replacement tires based on safety and handling will all contribute to consistent performance.
Use the following tips to help you stay on top of tire maintenance:
- Check tire pressure to ensure proper inflation. Underinflation can lead to excess heat, uneven tire wear, and decreased braking and handling capabilities, which may cause structural failures like blowouts and tread separation. Properly inflated tires will maximize tread life, improve handling, and increase fuel efficiency and overall driver safety.
- Follow proper tire rotation schedules. Recommended rotation patterns for your vehicle can be found in your owner’s manual. Routine tire rotations equalize and enhance front-to-rear and side-to-side tire wear. Remember: tire rotation will not prevent or circumvent wear issues caused by worn mechanical components.
- Balance tires as necessary. Out-of-balance tires may be detected in bumps that become more noticeable at higher speeds. Balancing tires is necessary during initial installation and during a remount.
- Install new tires in sets or pairs. The addition of one new tire to the rotation cycle can cause instability and create vehicle handling issues. When new tires are needed, two new tires should be installed on the rear of a vehicle, and the partially worn tires should be moved to the front of the vehicle.
- When the time comes to store your tires for next season, consider a dark place away from direct sunlight with low humidity. Tires should be stored away from solvents, grease, oil, or any ozone-producing electrical equipment, which have deteriorating effects on tires.
- Be mindful of abnormal tire wear or damage to your tires. Watch for signs of punctures, embedded objects, cracks, and bulges.
- Always keep a spare tire, and make sure it’s properly inflated and ready for use. You never know when you’re going to need it.
Take these tips into consideration when servicing your tires. The Rubber Manufacturer's Association (RMA) recommends taking five minutes each month to check your tires. Other mechanical issues may contribute to uneven tire wear, and need correction in order to maximize tire life and vehicle performance.
By taking proper care of your tires, you can remain safe during all types of travel, experience the benefits of better fuel economy, and extend tire life, which will positively impact the environment.

TPMS programming
Your Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) lets you know when your tires aren't properly inflated. But if your TPMS sensors aren't reading your inflation levels correctly, it will be more than a pain. It's also a safety issue.
Are your tires properly inflated?
If you suspect your TPMS isn't functioning correctly, contact Factory Tire & Rubber Inc. Tire sensors don't last forever and may require repair or replacement. In either case, it's important to seek out a shop that can relearn the TPMS to your vehicle and program it properly.
TPMS services
We provide the following TPMS services:
- TPMS diagnostic: We'll need to identify what's wrong with the system before we can do anything. If you're having problems, it could be caused by a few problems. It might be that the sensors are old or there might be a problem with your dashboard warning lights.
- TPMS repair: We can repair TPMS sensors or replace them depending on the problem
- TPMS programming: Your current sensors might need to be reprogrammed or you might need new TPMS sensors that have to be programmed.
Keeping your tires properly inflated contributes to your safety and longer lasting tires. Always keep an eye on your inflation levels and make sure your Tire Pressure Monitoring System is working correctly.
Used tires
Let’s face it—not everyone looks forward to buying new tires. It might be an opportunity to rid your vehicle of factory tires that didn't live up to your expectations, but it's also not a small expense. New tires from leading brands can be pricey. You get them when you need. After all, car tires just aren’t as fun as a new TV or gadget.
Get brand name tires for less
Rather than spend a moderate amount of money on new car and truck tires, save cash with used tires.
At Factory Tire & Rubber Inc, we stock a wide selection of used tires for customers in Toronto, ON, Etobicoke, ON, Rexdale, ON, and surrounding areas.
Our inventory of pre-owned tires is quality-assured to meet your driving needs and budget. The used tires we stock are significantly cheaper than new ones and come from great brands. They're both an affordable and environmentally conscious purchase that keeps your car rolling.
Why buy used tires?
Motorists liked used tires for a few solid reasons. Here's why they might be the right match in your life right now:
- Buying on a budget: Used tires cost significantly less money than new tires
- Selling your car: Did you recently install new tires on your car but now you're selling it? Chances are good you'd like to keep the more expensive tires you just bought. Find a good set of used tires and install them on your car instead. This is a good option if you know your next car will take the same tire size.
- Driving locally only: Why spend more money on tread you don't need? If you don't drive often, you might benefit from installing used tires on your vehicle instead of paying full price for new tires each time you need to change them. Did you know tires also wear over time? You'll be replacing them eventually either way, so you might as well pay only for what you need and save money each time.
- Want to make an environmentally conscious purchase: It takes oil to produce new tires. When you opt for used tires, you decrease this demand and promote resourcefulness. There's no reason for tires with a decent amount of tread left to be finished.

Hunter Roadforce balancing
When it comes to road force balance services, we pride ourselves on using the best balancing machine on the market: the Hunter Road Force Touch®. We provide road force balancing to customers in Toronto, Etobicoke, and Rexdale, ON, and surrounding areas. Give us a call now at (416) 744-1414 to schedule an appointment.
What is road force balancing?
Road force balancing refers to the even distribution of mass in a tire and wheel assembly. While tire balancing measures the imbalances, road force balancing detects the up and down motion of the tire. Road force balancing machines help to detect bulges and hard spots normally missed by regular tire balancing machines.
If there is an imbalance in the tire and wheel assembly, the tire will start to wobble as it rotates. This wobbling causes vibrations that will increase with speed. Ignoring the vibrations that come with tire imbalance can cause abnormal tire wear and put strain on suspension system components.
Our experienced professionals use intuitive Hunter equipment to identify the position and amount of imbalance in your passenger or light truck tire and wheel assemblies. The Hunter Road Force Touch® uses a type of road test, applying up to 1,250 pounds of force against the rotating assembly. The Smart Weight® Balancing technology helps to improve tire balance by minimizing weight usage and maximizing productivity.
Within mere minutes, Hunter Road Force Touch® pinpoints the root of the problem:
- Wheel imbalance
- Wheel run-out
- Force variation of the tire
- Mounting errors
- And other issues
We use the best in Hunter equipment, including the Hunter gps9700 roadforce balancer, and the Hunter wa130 Alignment machine.
The machine then transmits the necessary corrections to a diagnostic screen so our staff can make precise corrections to ensure your wheels are properly balanced.
Our Hunter Road Force balancing equipment will provide an accurate diagnosis of your vehicle. The Hunter Road Force Touch® is guaranteed to perform a tire balance test faster than a traditional balancing equipment. It solves vibration problems, identifies vehicle pulls, ensures proper centering, and eliminates setup errors in order to provide a new car ride to your vehicle.
Don’t risk the wear and performance of your tires on any other auto balancing technology. Call now to schedule your appointment at Factory Tire & Rubber Inc.
Car care tips
At Factory Tire & Rubber Inc., we want our customers in Toronto, ON, Etobicoke, ON, Rexdale, ON, and surrounding areas to get the most out of their vehicles.
What’s the key to keeping your car running for a long time? Following the recommended maintenance intervals outlined in your owner’s manual and checking for potential problems before they happen are essential to overall vehicle maintenance. But when it's time for necessary tire services, remember where to turn: Factory Tire & Rubber Inc.
Follow the car care tips below to keep your vehicle running reliably:
- Change the oil within the suggested service intervals. Checking and changing your oil and oil filter will help your engine and vehicle run smoothly. While changing your oil as required is important, using the manufacturer’s recommended oil for your vehicle can improve gas mileage by 1–2%.
- Moving components require regular lubrication and should be checked as often as the oil is changed. Driveline components, like CV and u-joints, are flexible components that, if not properly lubricated, can break down and cause other major components to go with them.
- Transmission and differential fluid are other important fluids to check during service intervals. Unusual noises, sluggish shifting, or abrupt gear changes are all signs that your transmission service interval is quickly approaching or has passed. For fluid specifications, be sure to consult your owner’s manual for your manufacturer’s recommended transmission fluid type and viscosity.
- Pay attention to battery life. Battery connections should be kept tight, clean, and free of corrosion. Batteries rarely provide warnings before failing, so be sure to seek battery replacements as necessary.
- Brake fluid can attract moisture, which will corrode components. Brake fluid should be replaced once a year to keep calipers, hoses, and other components in top operating condition. Other important fluids to consider changing on a regular basis include power steering fluid and coolant. Each fluid has its own service interval, so be sure to check with the manufacturer.
- Fully functioning climate control systems are important to your comfort and your overall safety. A complete flush and fill of the coolant system is necessary for ridding the system of dirt and rust collected from the engine, radiator, and various hoses. Refrigerant may also be checked prior to the onset of warmer seasons.
- Wheel alignments can realign your wheels to your manufacturer’s specifications. Wheel alignments improve straight-line tracking and reduce tire wear. If you feel unusual pulling to one side, it is time for a wheel alignment.
- Avoid stop-and-go driving. This wastes fuel and adds unnecessary wear and premature age to crucial components.
By following these tips and the service intervals listed inside your owner’s manual, you can guard against major repairs and unexpected failures. Proper vehicle maintenance can save you money in the long run, and improve your safety and the safety of your passengers, while neglecting suggested services at regular intervals will void vehicle and parts warranties.
Stay on top of routine vehicle maintenance and visit us today or contact us online when your vehicle needs to be serviced by our professionals.
Oil change
Keep your vehicle running smoothly with a fresh oil change

An oil change is an important part of routine vehicle maintenance. Fresh oil provides superior lubrication compared to oil that has run its course, lessening friction between the many working parts in your vehicle. Many motor oil brands feature proprietary formulas that clean and protect your engine in addition to providing lubrication.
Factory Tire provides oil changes for Toronto, ON and surrounding areas. We strive to create a carefree service experience that makes it easy to keep up with your oil change service intervals.
We value your time and are committed to completing your oil change within a reasonable timeframe. We'll work with you to find an agreeable day and time for your service. Our selection includes automotive lubricants and motor oil from trusted names to provide the level of lubrication and engine protection you desire. If you're not sure which type of oil is right for your vehicle, our staff will assess your make, model, and mileage to make a recommendation.
Lubricants are essential to the continued operation of any vehicle. Depending on your choice of oil and driving environment, your recommended oil change service intervals will vary. Consult your owner's manual and the oil brand manufacturer for more information.
