Belts & hoses

Factory Tire provides belts and hoses service for drivers in Toronto, Etobicoke, Rexdale, and surrounding communities. Below is what we inspect, why it matters, and the specific jobs we perform.

Overview

Your vehicle’s belts and hoses take part in cooling, air conditioning, charging, and engine operation. Heater and radiator hoses move coolant between the engine, radiator, and heater core. The timing belt (or timing chain on some engines) keeps crankshaft and camshaft rotation in sync so valves and pistons stay coordinated. The serpentine belt sends power from the front of the engine to systems such as air conditioning and charging. Wear comes from age, mileage, tension, clamp condition, chemical breakdown, and oil contamination. Scheduled inspection and replacement reduces roadside failures and expensive secondary damage.

Benefits & warning signs

Benefits of belts & hoses

Belts and hoses are among the shorter lived parts under the hood. Heat, vibration, and chemicals encourage cracks and leaks. Listen for squeaks or grinding at startup or while driving: grinding near a belt path often traces to a pulley bearing rather than the belt alone. Watch for loss of power, fluid leaks, warning lamps, steam, or A/C that stops cooling. Summer heat accelerates rubber aging, so inspections matter even more in warm weather. Follow your manufacturer’s intervals; visual checks alone can miss internal belt wear.

Heater hose replacement

Heater hoses carry coolant to and from the heater core so your cabin warms reliably. We replace worn hoses before they leak or collapse under pressure.

Radiator hose replacement

Radiator hoses link the engine and radiator. Swollen, soft, or leaking hoses risk overheating. We install quality replacements matched to your cooling system.

Serpentine belt replacement

The serpentine belt drives A/C, alternator, and other front engine accessories. Glazing or cracking means it is time for a careful replacement and tension check.

Timing belt replacement

The timing belt keeps crankshaft and camshaft in sync (some vehicles use a chain instead). This job takes longer but prevents catastrophic valve or piston contact if the belt fails.
